Field Evaluations for New Players and Players Without Ratings are Scheduled
All u10, u12, and u14 players that are new to SMYS or who do not have a player rating on file are required to attend a Field Evaluation Session on:
All sessions are open from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Walnut Grove Park - South. You should receive an email regarding your players' scheduled evaluation session shortly, but if you do not recieve an email or phone call from a league representative and you are unsure if your child needs to attend one of these sessions, please email our This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to verify.
Things to know:
These are only evaluation sessions and not tryouts. The league generates a player rating from these sessions to help form balanced and fair teams for the fall season. All we ask is that the kids try hard and have fun.
If you are requesting a refund for registration fees you must submit the request via e-mail to cfo@sanmarcosyouthsoccer.
Requests made after July 1, 2013 will be reduced by any expenditures that have already been spent on the player. These may include, but are not limited to, insurance, uniforms, and administrative fees. Any refund requests made after the beginning of the season will be pro-rated after reducing for expenditures.
Refund requests will be processed within two weeks.
Begining in the fall of 2013, SMYS will be starting a new Friend Request program for all u08 and up players. We recognize the importance of the kids playing soccer with their friends, whether it's for carpooling or friendship reasons, and we want to accomodate as many requests as possible without affecting the divisional team balance.
At the same time, SMYS is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that relies on the good works of the parents of the community, and we are always looking for new volunteers to help make the program more and more successful.
With that said, we will be offering friend requests in return for specific volunteer positions. In other words, if you volunteer for the league in one of the designated positions, we will say thank you by honoring a Friend Request. For more information on the program and the specific volunteer positions, you can download the "Friend Request Volunteer Form" here.
Friend requests for u05, u06, and u07 players does not carry the volunteer requirement but is limited to one friend request per player. The "Friend Request Form" can also be downloaded.
Our goal is 3-fold:
When you register on line for the fall season, please do not enter your friend request in the "notes and comments" portion of the registration process, as this data will not be collected or honored. Friend request data will only be taken from the Friend Request Forms.
We hope that you will share our desire to provide a fair and fun place for kids and their families to enjoy the game of soccer.

As many of you may have noticed, SMYS has started using a new registration program called League Toolbox to manage our Winter Arena Season. This new program not only takes registrations, but it also creates rosters and schedules, as well as helps us communicate with coaches, referees, players, and parents. Everyone that is registered in the Winter Arena Season (players/parents, coaches, referees) has a personal account that they can access to view their schedules, team rosters, and other personal information.
Logging in to your League Toolbox account is not the same as logging in to our website or your CalSouth account, so if you have experienced difficulties or confusion trying to log in, we apologize for any inconvenience. If you registered online, you used the League Toolbox program and have an account login and password.
Over the next few weeks, we will be slowing shifting our website over to the League Toolbox web hosting site and will be eliminating part of the confusion between the two sites.
To view the Spring Arena schedules, click on the schedules button on the top menu - there you will also be able to log in to your League Toolbox account.
Thank you for your patience while we work through this transition that is going to help make San Marcos Youth Soccer a more efficient soccer league.
